A CUPPA DAY

Brew Room, ECR is determined to become a necessity for coffee addicts, a place to dream of as you try to escape the daily stresses of life and just a comfortable place to meet your friends or to read a book, all in one. The cafe also features a full menu of moderately priced “comfort” food influenced mostly by continental cooking traditions with an incredible dessert bar.

I was invited by them for a tasting session, I was served a plethora of fabulous dishes which only left me  fascinated.

Coffee(Rs.100 -Rs 150): Im not a  coffee connoisseur to find out a good coffee .You’ll know what you like and dislike about any coffee you try, without a sense of taste sophisticated enough to know that one has a more  aroma or clean taste than another. I happened to taste Six Varieties of Coffee.

  • SWISS CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE : Bright , Sharp and Snappy
  • THAI COLD COFFEE: Mellow
  • HOT CHOCOLATE : Bitter
  • HAZLENUT CAPPUCHINO: Nutty
  • OREO SHAKE : Chocolatey
  • CAFÉ LATTE: Sweet

Salads (Rs 100-Rs 125)

Nothing says summer like fresh watermelon and feta!, Even those of you who don’t like sweet, fruity salads may appreciate this one– the flavor is truly unique. Coming to the greek salad which was wonderful. FYI, lettuce can very much be a part of any greek salad –I like Lettuce.

Soup and Starters (Rs 150-Rs 200)

Mozzarella Sticks : Crunchy outside, gooey cheese inside, these mozzarella sticks are a treat . Bruschetta platter: Made with fresh vegetables, this flavorful vegetarian bruschetta is a healthy snack  which goes hand on with a coffee., the only thing that didn’t suit my taste buds was the roasted tomato and bell pepper soup, the consistency was thick and lacked the acidic zing.

Mains (Rs 150 to Rs 250):

Being a vegetarian, PESTO is a mouthful of bright summer and a great change from the usual red sauce, if googled on how these pesto’s are usually made, an ingredient named “PINE NUT” forms the integral part which adds the absolute burst to the herby flavor. And at Brew room they have not made any compromise on the originality of the dish, I happened to taste the pesto with tofu in a sandwich and another version with a pasta. The former was a delight, but the latter was a bit dry ,tossed with generous black olives made it edible.

Pizza(New addidtion , do ask them for separate menu):

The key to a really good pizza is of course the crust , and they have nailed it at Brew room, but the toppings for me again lacked the relish. Both Sicilicana and Mexicana had tangy-ness and the cheesy strike was just not enough.

Dessert (Rs 100 to Rs 150):

A mouthwatering selection of individual fresh cakes . The selection is made up with the following. Salted caramel Brownie, A red velvet Cup cake and  the carrot cake can be bucketed as the MUST HAVES, while the Banana Nuttela Cake and The Classic Chocolate Brownie was passable.

Verdict : The classy ambiance along with attentive and warm service makes your experience a memorable one for sure. , but there is always room for improvement in their Mains.I will give this place close to 70% positive feedback. And I wish the team very best and hopefully they will continue to impress us in the years to come.
